THE KILLING JOKE is one of the first comics that left an impression on me. I’m not going to say anything new: Alan Moore‘s script is great and Brian Bolland‘s drawings are impeccable. But there is another element that is generally left aside and that I always found beautiful: John Higgins‘ colors. A simple, but very effective and at the same time somewhat psychedelic palette, which perfectly accompanies the story. I recently came across some black and white pages of this comic and I couldn’t resist the temptation to color them in my own style. I hope you like them 🙂

THE KILLING JOKE es uno de los primeros cómics que me marcó. No voy a decir nada novedoso: el guión de Alan Moore es genial y los dibujos de Brian Bolland son impecables. Pero hay otro elemento que en general se deja de lado y que a mi siempre me resultó hermoso: el color de John Higgins. Un color simple, pero muy efectivo y a la vez un tanto psicodélico, que acompaña perfectamente la historia. Hace poco me crucé con algunas páginas de este cómic en blanco y negro y no pude evitar la tentación de colorearlas con mi propio estilo. Espero que gusten 🙂
